Committee Questions, Comments, Concerns

  • Think a bit more about the height/composition of the gable roof.  Would more of a flat roof keep the significance of the gable on the original ticket house building?
  • Think about making the corner building a bit more special with additional height or signage placed higher (E66/Lex)
  • Possibly consider roof top restaurant/deck seating on the E66/Lex building
  • What types of commercial operations will survive in the mixed-use commercial building?
  • Are there any preliminary thoughts on parking for the new buildings?  Consider design solutions to further delineate the parking from the pedestrian plaza space.

Khrys Shefton from Famicos Fdn is available to speak on support for the project, but does have inquiries on the types of retail uses will be the most successful and have the most longevity.  Encourages the development team to speak with stakeholders/users outside of the immediate area.

Kim Scott from City Planning is available to share support for the project, does link the development of this site to the overall planning for the neighborhood and the E. 66th plan. Notes that the Historic League Park is a regional draw so retail spaces should take that into consideration as well.
